ICA DATA GLOBE

An initiative of the Insurance Council of Australia

Welcome to the ICA Data Globe

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) collects hazard related information and other geospatial datasets to assist with understanding how natural hazards impact upon insurance affordability and availability. The ICA Data Globe provides the ICA with the capability to visualise the potential impacts of mapped hazards, and to enhance dialogue with relevant authorities regarding the need to consider mitigation activities or to improve hazard data collection.

The ICA Data Globe also provides the ICA with its primary mechanism for distributing hazard related information to insurers for their voluntary use, typically within their own underwriting and geospatial systems.

The ICA accumulates this data from many different sources including local councils, government agencies and commercial providers.
